The National Police has arrested a 26-year-old Guinean man with no police record, who was acting as a mule, in Arrecife, as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime. During the initial search, agents had located 26 packages of what they thought could be heroin.
After that, and according to the note issued by the Police, the detainee was transferred to a health center, where he expelled another 39 capsules from his body. In total, he would have allegedly ingested 826 grams of drugs.
The agents, who were carrying out security work in the municipality of Arrecife, observed an individual who immediately aroused their suspicions while wandering along Fred Olsen Avenue.
With 65 packages of heroin inside
As explained by the National Police, after proceeding with his identification and security check, a total of 26 capsules of what could be heroin were seized, at which point he acknowledged to the police officers that he had ingested 65 packages.
The man, 26 years old and from Guinea Bissau, was arrested and transferred to a medical center in Arrecife, where he expelled another 39 capsules of heroin.
Made available to the competent Judicial Authority, his immediate imprisonment was finally ordered.
