A lamppost fell last Saturday on Calle Manolo Millares, formerly José Antonio, at the height of the traffic lights at the exit of Arrecife. Fortunately, there were no personal or material damages to regret, since, as La Voz has been informed by the Emergency Consortium, it did not affect any pedestrians or cars that were parked.

Although the exact reasons why the lamppost may have fallen are unknown, some sources suggest that one of the causes could be the proximity of works that are being carried out in the area. Fortunately, despite the fact that this road is one of the busiest, no car was circulating on the road at that time and there were no people transiting the area, which avoided worse consequences.

Local Police officers went to the scene, who had to cut off traffic, causing some traffic jams, and firefighters who removed the lamppost from the road.
