A fire affected an abandoned house in Arrecife on Tuesday night. A homeless person lived in it, who was the one who gave the notice to 112 when he observed smoke coming out of his mattress.
The fire occurred at 11:10 p.m. on García Escámez street, in a lot where there are several abandoned houses, in which homeless people live. Firefighters from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium and agents of the National Police went to the scene.
Luckily, the fire only affected the mattress and was quickly extinguished by the firefighters. The person who lived in this house was not injured, according to the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium.
