A drunk driver has been involved in a serious accident in Costa Teguise on the afternoon of this Friday, December 27, around 7:00 p.m. The vehicle, out of control, collided with several cars parked on the public road. The force of the impact has displaced one of the automobiles towards the sidewalk, where it has run over a passerby.
In addition, as a result of the collision, one of the vehicles caught fire and was extinguished by a security guard.
Local Police officers, firefighters and three ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), two basic life support and one medicalized, have traveled to the scene of the accident to assist those affected and secure the area.
The 36-year-old driver was injured with serious multiple contusions and the 50-year-old woman (pedestrian) had several serious traumas. Both have been transferred by ambulance to Molina Orosa.
According to La Voz, the driver would have tested positive for alcohol and, presumably, could be under the influence of other substances. The police officers have carried out the corresponding report.
