The National Police had to request the help of firefighters this Wednesday to get a detainee down from the roof of the old Agramar warehouses, on Naos Avenue in Arrecife.

According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, the firefighters were activated at around 1:45 p.m., when they were asked for help to get the arrested man down.

For this, they used an extendable ladder, and the detainee was later transferred to the patrol car.

Apparently, the man was the skipper of one of the last boats that arrived on the island, and was in police custody. However, he managed to escape, giving rise to this spectacular arrest on the roof of the old cannery.
