The Civil Guard of Costa Teguise investigated on August 20 a 43-year-old person for the alleged authorship of a crime against workers as the owner of a renovation company in which two employees suffered an accident, later verifying that they were irregularly in the company without being registered with the Social Security system.
The events occurred around noon on August 17, 2021, when the Civil Guard received a notice related to an accident that occurred in Charco del Palo, verifying at the scene how effectively a worker who was doing a waterproofing job on the roof, had lost his balance and had stepped on a skylight that had broken, thus falling from a height of about four meters.
He was immediately transferred by ambulance to the Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife, where the agents verified that there were no fractures in the follow-up carried out at the hospital.
Once information was collected, the components of the Investigation Group took charge of the investigation, verifying that none of the two workers who were carrying out the renovations carried or used any security element. Likewise, in turn, they proceeded to verify the data of the administrative situation of both, finding that they were irregularly in this country.
Likewise, the Civil Guard carried out the appropriate checks with the Social Security administration of Arrecife, verifying that the aforementioned workers were not registered in any type of Social Security system.
Therefore, a statement was taken from those involved, clarifying these facts with the investigation of the owner of the contracting company for a crime against the rights of workers, leaving everything at the disposal of the Investigating Courts in guard functions of Arrecife.
