The Timple House-Museum reopened its doors to the public this Thursday to enjoy the concert by Almudena Hernández, a singer born in Lanzarote and adopted in Graciosa. The performance took place with a very limited capacity and under strict security measures.
Almudena Hernández has surprising vocal qualities that have allowed her to participate in many of the festivals held in Lanzarote from a very young age, winning numerous awards that have encouraged her to continue in the musical field accompanied by musician friends, livening up nights in hotels and private parties. The Lanzarote native is a lover of traditional Canarian song and music and has participated as a guest in folk festivals and television programs.
For this concert, Almudena Hernández was accompanied by great musicians and friends. Ivanhoe Rodríguez was present on guitar and bass, the tireless Wily Morales on percussion, and Montse Medina, a professional singer and member of the Elysian and Sin Cobertura groups, on backing vocals.
A wide repertoire of songs
The attending public was able to enjoy a varied range of songs, some of Canarian roots and others melodic. Among others, Almudena Hernández performed compositions such as 'Burbujas de Amor' by Juan Luis Guerra, 'Adoro' by Armando Manzanero and 'Aunque ya no vuelva a verte' by Gian Marco.
At one point in the concert, Almudena and Montse joined their voices to perform the habanera 'La Perla', with lyrics by the Gran Canarian composer Néstor Álamo and some 'Aires de Lima de Artenara', to finish with a malagueña with couplets by César Rijo, a young member of the Güerma group.

Almudena Hernández and her colleagues felt very supported by the applause of the attending public, who enjoyed a concert to remember and which ended with the song 'Algo Contigo', by the Argentine singer-songwriter Chico Novarro.
The Councilor for Culture and Festivities, Nori Machín, and the Commissioner of the House-Museum, Benito Cabrera, are very hopeful that Covid infections on the island will continue to decrease, so that they can continue with the scheduled concerts with complete normality.
