Ingenious, full of black humor and very vindictive. This is how the play Rats is defined, which will invade the stage of the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater "El Salinero" this coming Saturday, March 16 at 8 p.m., within the cultural program of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
The Minister of Culture, Jesús Machín Tavío, explained that "this is a work that challenges conventions with its ingenuity, becoming a vindictive and fun reflection on social and gender inequalities, climate change, world politics and more. It is a unique opportunity to enjoy theater with a fresh and provocative approach."
Spectators will be able to follow the adventures of a command of military rodents, located in the sewer of a large city, who conspire to end humanity and, in this way, occupy their place in the pyramid of power. Since they spread the plague in the 14th century, they have not managed to strike a good blow and the bats are taking advantage with covid-19. It seems like a good idea, the problem is that they are half silly.
Rats talks about social and gender inequalities, climate change, the situation of world politics, animal abuse, abuse of power, fake news and mass manipulation. Using comedy, its creators review how the world is from humor and irony.
All people interested in attending this humorous play can purchase tickets, at a price of 10 euros, on the website of the Culture Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote (www.culturalanzarote.com).
