The theatrical play The Mud We Were will be presented next Saturday, December 2nd at the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater El Salinero. The Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa has programmed this show, produced by the company La Inasible Teatro.
"This cheeky and irreverent tragicomedy offers a dynamic, plastic and poetic staging that transports the viewer to a unique universe," the Cabildo reported in a statement. Through humor and the language of the absurd, the play raises existential questions and investigates the limits of human stupidity, inviting a deep reflection on the importance of considering the consequences of our actions to guarantee the sustainability of the planet.
The Cabildo's Culture Councilor, Jesús Machín Tavío, invites all the people of Lanzarote to "enjoy this award-winning artistic piece that offers the opportunity to immerse themselves in a unique theatrical experience that promises to provoke unforgettable reflections and emotions on stage."
The plot unfolds with two archetypal characters: a king and a jester, who find themselves in an apocalyptic setting. This clash between two opposing temporal realities provides a space for inquiry and questioning about our current relationship with nature and with other beings.
The Mud We Were has a technical and artistic team made up mainly of women professionals from the performing arts, who contribute their talent and creativity to this project. The main performers, Isabel Cabrera and Mónica Aguiar, masterfully embody these characters, taking the public on an emotional journey through this fascinating story.
The play will be performed at the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater El Salinero this coming Saturday, December 2nd at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for this performance cost 10 euros and are available for purchase through the page of the Culture area.
