The Santo Domingo convent in Teguise currently hosts the exhibition "Sobaco - Postcards between Lava and Salt", by Maxi Ferrer.
The inauguration, which was attended by the Councilor for Culture of the Teguise City Council, Nori Machín, took place at 8:00 p.m. last Thursday. At the presentation ceremony, Maxi Ferrer explained to those present, in great detail, how the project that began in the midst of the Covid pandemic had been conceived.
The exhibited works, which total 41 in different formats, are inspired some of them by photographs corresponding between the years 1900 and 1940, which reflect different moments carried out by the men and women of Lanzarote, in the hard tasks carrying out the work in the field and at sea.
The author also includes some brushstrokes of the few festive events, such as a fight, a procession or a fair. To carry out the project, Maxi used a mixed technique using charcoal, tempera and wax, highlighting the reddish colors mixed with reflections of the author.
"Sobaco - Postcards between lava and salt" was exhibited in the Lola Massieu room in Santa Brígida Gran Canaria, in the Casino Club Náutico de Arrecife and in the Sociedad Democracia de Arrecife. In the Santo Domingo convent it will be until April 30.
