The music band 'La Unión Musical de Lanzarote' offered last Monday night in the main church of San Ginés Obispo in Arrecife a 'Sacred Concert', in the prelude to the celebration of Holy Week 2024.

In this concert, the band chose a repertoire of a religious nature, exposing a rich variety within the religious genre.

They began with the interpretation of processional marches so characteristic of Holy Week, where the art of their sounds granted a great cultural richness that helped to keep the collective memory alive and, therefore, the tradition itself.

'La Unión Musical de Lanzarote' had a total of 30 musicians for this concert, men and women directed by Professor Pepe Artiles. The members were preparing with great enthusiasm for what would be their 'First Sacred Concert', choosing the main church of San Ginés Obispo as the stage.

A church in which the acoustics are essential and could make the musical notes clearer and more emotional. The attending public was able to enjoy the music corresponding to 'Processional Marches', such as 'The Music of Silence', 'Crowned Solitude', 'Our Father Jesus', 'After your step', 'Mother', 'Brother Porters' or 'Saeta by Joan Manuel Serrat'. The attendees followed the development of the concert attentively and rewarded the magnificent work of the musicians with resounding applause.

In addition, the titular parish priest, Juan Carlos Medina, thanked the musical group for having chosen the church of San Ginés Obispo for their 'First Sacred Concert', and congratulated them for their excellent work.
