The Torrelavega Culture, Recreation and Sports Society has continued with its cultural program. This Thursday at 8:00 p.m. surprised its members and the general public with the extraordinary concert offered by the Casual Combo Big Band, directed by Professor Ayoze Rodríguez.
In this show, the musicians performed different genres and styles, highlighting soul and jazz, among others that were intertwined.
Some of the hits they performed were well known, such as: Hey Jude by The Beatles, Hit the Road by the great Ray Charles and Oh Happy Day, a traditional gospel composition. During the concert, they had the intervention of the soloist Julia Sosa, who with her records surprised the audience, who did not stop applauding each of the songs that she performed with unparalleled nuances.
The public enjoyed not only the musical selection chosen for this concert, but also the professionalism of the musicians and the soloist Julia Sosa. Under the direction of Ayoze Rodríguez, they set the bar very high and demonstrated in Lanzarote that the musical section is at a very high level.
The band was made up of a total of 20 musicians, including advanced students and teachers. Its formation has been extended for approximately seven years, where its improvisation has been evolving favorably in the classroom of the Teguise Municipal School of Music. There, a heterogeneous formation was formed, until it became the Casual Combo Big Band, created four years ago.
When the director concluded the concert, the public stood up and encouraged them to continue, closing the performance by performing an encore.
