Manuel Carrasco Concert in Los Dolores

The artist from Huelva, Manuel Carrasco, managed to fill the Plaza de Los Dolores during his concert. The event, which began at 9:00 p.m., concluded after 11:00 p.m. with the fireworks in honor of the patron saint of Lanzarote and marking the end of the festivities in Mancha Blanca.

In a moment of the night, the Andalusian took his guitar and dedicated some verses to the island of Lanzarote in which he made a tour of its most significant places and elements. Carrasco mentioned Timanfaya, the Puente de Las Bolas, Famara and Papagayo, as well as the multidisciplinary artist César Manrique.

"The Timanfaya park, with its Mountains of Fire,

the Route of the Volcanoes, its natural landscapes, I thought I was in a dream.

In the Islote de Hilario I could feel your warmth

a little camel ride and the volcano that is in my chest when he saw you woke up.

And in the Mirador de El Río, the wind, the mountains and the waves,

¡Lanzarote, how beautiful, looking at you from above, contemplating La Graciosa!

Through Famara and Papagayo, looking for you at all hours,

just to be with you, I jump like a kid through the Puente de Las Bolas.

And tomorrow at noon to taste a Malvasia wine from your lips.

And so the bishop wanted it, the first concert I do with the stage blessed.

And an artist in love with his island and its people,

unforgettable corners, his respect for the environment, the Monument to the Peasant,

with the wind toys and the Jameos del Agua with its blind crabs.

And so many works of art, which will remain for the memory,

for everything you gave us, teacher César Manrique, may God have him in glory."

Throughout the night, Carrasco performed some of the greatest hits of his career, such as Fue, Hay que vivir el momento, included in his latest album Corazón y Flecha, and other hits such as Qué bonito es querer. In addition, his complicity with the public, a distinctive hallmark of his performances, shone in each song, managing to connect deeply with the spectators.

After the concert, at 11:30 p.m., a display of fireworks illuminated the sky of Mancha Blanca, marking the closing of a day that will be remembered by all attendees. The celebration continued with the popular verbena, enlivened by the orchestras Grupo Bomba de Fuerteventura and Banda Nueva, to end an unforgettable night.
