The president of Los Campesinos, Miguel Ángel Corujo, accompanied by some members of the group, the Councilor for Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, Nova Kirkpatrick, and the managing secretary of the Lanzarote Wine Regulatory Council, Nereida Pérez, presented on Thursday morning, in La Plazuela de Arrecife, part of the content of the "30th Campesino Festival", which will be held this Friday, at 9:30 p.m., on the stage located in the Charco de San Ginés, next to the Casa del Miedo.
This year, on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of César Manrique, the group wanted to pay tribute to the artist using two of his most iconic images, those of the 'Campesina' and 'Campesino', to illustrate the advertising poster.
In addition, Miguel Ángel Corujo highlighted the relevance of the show, which comes from Benito Cabrera with his new project 'Canarias: vino al Mundo', a tribute to the wines of the Canary Islands through stories that connect the Archipelago with the history of several countries and prominent names in Western culture.
The members of the group, present at the event, gave passers-by postcards and stickers with information about the festival and, at the end of the press conference, all attendees toasted with Lanzarote wines, a gift from the Regulatory Council.
