Lanzarote is preparing the new edition of 'Island Christmas' with almost fifty groups. The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Culture area, has started meetings and gatherings for the celebration of a new edition of the festival.
As a first contact for the celebration of this new installment, Oswaldo Betancort and the head of the area, Jesús Machín Tavío, met with all the groups and people belonging to the project.
This year seven main performances will be held in each of the island's municipalities, and the festival will feature a total of 47 musical groups, of which ten are choirs, thirteen are carol groups, nineteen are folk groups and five are Christmas Eve ranches.
“In this new edition we will also have the municipal bands from the different municipalities, thus seeking greater visibility and dignity for the groups”, says the Minister of Culture, Jesús Machín Tavío, who also points out that it will be about “centralizing the events, which will help the concerts to be held with all the technical guarantees”.
With these "small changes" in the organizational chart of the 'Island Christmas' project, the Cabildo of Lanzarote intends to "value the work done by the different musical groups throughout the year".
