In compliance with the festive program in honor of Our Lady of Carmen, last Saturday night, the Cultural Association 'Coral Polifónica Villa de Teguise' held its usual concert at 9:00 p.m. in the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The 'Coral Polifónica Villa de Teguise' directed by Professor Nuvi Tavio performed the following compositions: 'Ay triste que vengo de Juan del Encina', 'Signore delle Cine de Giuseppe de Marzi' and 'Nerea izango zen' by J. A. Artze and Mikel Laboa. Songs which the public liked very much for the way they were performed, the content of their lyrics and the sweetness of their voices, receiving as a gift the applause of those present.

The second part of the concert featured the duo 'Nao Música', with Cristina Barceló (Soprano) and Vicente Bru (Harpsichord), performing French and Spanish music for voice and keyboard from the early 18th century. 'Las Brunetes ou petites airs tendres' belong to the collection of popular pieces, songs, airs, made by the royal publisher Christophe Ballard. The works of Honoré d'Ámbruys, Michel Lambert and Sébastien Le Camus are airs de cour, music that represents the atmosphere of the court of Louis XIV, music published by the Ballard family. The instrument used by Vicente Bru for the concert is a copy of an original 16th century Harpsichord. After the concert, Cristina and Vicente thanked the audience for their welcome, who wrapped them in applause during their performance.

The Cultural Association Coral Polifónica Villa de Teguise: Choral singing is choral singing, a musical heritage that contains within itself the maximum expression of the human voice. It is a crossroads of values, of paths between cultures that have in music a common language. Choirs try in some way to harmonize all the manifestations of joy or sadness that the soul of a people is susceptible to and does so through words and music.
