Under the title "A walk through painting", Arenas Internacional School celebrated this Saturday, March 11, the inauguration of the XXVII edition of its Olympiad, inspired by one of the seven Fine Arts: painting. Through imagination, inquiry, communicative spirit, open-mindedness and reflection (attributes of the profile of students of the International Baccalaureate programs), "the protagonists offered a great show turning the sports facilities of the School into a fantastic virtual museum", say from the organization.

The Arenas Internacional School Olympiad is one of the most anticipated annual events in which the entire educational community of the Center (families, teachers, students) is involved, from the preparation of the costumes to the participation in the different sports and cultural activities organized for the Olympic week, which will take place until March 17, 2023, and in which a group of German students who will be on the island participating in the exchange program carried out by Arenas Internacional School for years will also participate.

The presentation of the event was once again in charge of the Director of Arenas Internacional School, Delfina Rodríguez, who gave way to the Inaugural Proclamation offered by Fabiola Mesa and Antonio Armas, parents of students of the Center. Subsequently, the opening gala took place.

Through gymnastics, dance, dramatization and choreographies in which all the students of the Center participate, from first year of Infant to Baccalaureate, and a representation of students of Arenas School (Modern Dance), you could enjoy a great show in which mysterious sunflowers, colorful harlequins, clocks, hearts, ladies and fishermen, lovers who swear eternal love, comic figures paraded..., and where again, the costumes, designed by Manuel Camejo and made by a group of volunteer mothers and teachers, shone again in this walk through art.

At the end of the performance, the entrance of the students carrying the Olympic Torch took place, and the subsequent lighting of the cauldron, whose honor this year fell on the student of 2nd year of ESO, Changrui Jiang Chen.
