After many years without being celebrated, the Arrecife City Council has included the Arrecife Song Festival in the San Ginés Festival program. At the initiative of the Councilor for Acts, Events and Sports of the capital, Juanjo López, as a great connoisseur of the show in which he became known, participating in different stages of Lanzarote and internationally, obtaining important awards.
The I Arrecife Song Festival was held on Tuesday night on the stage installed in the Charco de San Ginés. The event was attended by 10 singers, women and men, who very excited went on stage offering the best of themselves, after having prepared by reviewing each of the stanzas of their songs to present themselves before a jury in charge of dictating the ruling, in favor or against when interpreting the chosen song.
Carmen Nieves Pérez was the host of the festival presenting each of the 10 singers all with different musical genres and where the five members of the jury would score their performance.
The event began with the performance of the Ballet of the Daniel de la Rosa Dance School, thus giving way to the first five participants. Then the young couple formed by Marcos and Ainara took the stage, sports dance champions in Europe where last July they represented Lanzarote.
After that, the festival continued its rhythm with the last five contestants. During the time that the jury was deliberating, the public was able to enjoy the performance of the Ballet of the Daniel de la Rosa Dance School and the singer Neo Pinto from Tenerife. The latter with more than 12 years of professional experience, a reference of Latin pop in the Canary Islands and who conquered the public with a very dynamic staging, with a very lively repertoire that the public hummed, applauded and some even moved their hips infected by the singer.
With the 10 participants already on stage, the expected moment arrived, some were already impatient holding their breath. They were given a diploma for their participation, and the names of the three winners were announced.
The third prize, valued at 250 euros, and the trophy went to Luis Ayquipa and Lucia Arroyo. The second prize, valued at 500 euros and a trophy, went to Selene Marques. To conclude, the first prize, of 1000 euros, and the trophy went to Altahay de la Guardia. This first edition of the Arrecife Song Festival came to an end with the performance of the winner interpreting his song "Flor blanca del Sur".
