The Official Section of the Lanzarote International Film Festival is made up of five categories: Canarian Shorts, Animation Shorts, International Fiction Shorts, National Fiction Shorts and Documentary Shorts. The winners of these last two categories will be pre-selected for the Goya Awards granted by the Film Academy.
El Almacén will host the screening of animation, documentary, Spanish fiction and international fiction short films, starting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday 20, Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 June. In some cases, these screenings will be the international premiere of the short films, all produced in 2021.
The Canarian shorts will be screened at the Víctor Fernández Gopar ‘El Salinero’ Theater on Friday, June 24, starting at 6:30 p.m., with the presence of the filmmakers, who will present their works to the public. At the end of each screening, a QR code will be projected so that viewers can scan it and vote for the Audience Award.
The FICL networks, on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, are already disseminating information about the 54 works that will compete this year to win the official awards of the Festival, which will be announced at the closing gala, on Saturday, June 25 at the El Salinero Theater.
Soon, the organization will announce the rest of the program, the parallel activities of the Festival, the Jury of this edition and how to get tickets for all the shows.
The 22nd Lanzarote International Film Festival is organized by Fisme Producciones and the Culture area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, with the sponsorship of Canary Islands Films, the Canarian Institute for Cultural Development and the Government of the Canary Islands, and the collaboration of the Culture Department of the Arrecife City Council and the Arrecife Gran Hotel.
