The Court of Instruction number 1 of Arrecife assures that it did notify on January 17, 2020 to the parties involved in the case that investigated the homicide of Romina Celeste that they were going to destroy the piece of lung of the victim, the only thing left of her body.

Likewise, it reveals that in that information it was also indicated that they had a period of three months to respond and if not it would be destroyed.

This clarification comes after the statements of the defense lawyer of the family, Emilia Zaballos, in a program of the Canarian public television in which she accused the Court of not having notified the parties of the destruction of the remains.

The mother of the young woman who died at the hands of her husband on New Year's Eve 2018, Miriam Rodríguez, wanted to take her daughter's remains with her to bury them in Paraguay. However, it was not possible because they had already been destroyed.

According to the Court, the parties were notified that the only biological remains found of the corpse would be destroyed if no one presented allegations against this decision.

"According to the case file, the Court of Instruction number 1 sent on the indicated date to all the parties involved in the case an order of proceedings." The computer system of the administration of justice in the Archipelago reveals that the attorney of the lawyer of the victim's family received and acknowledged receipt electronically.

"In the Court of Instruction number 1 of Lanzarote, no writing has been registered from any of the parties involved in the case requesting the preservation of the biological remains.
