The Regulatory Council of Lanzarote invites you to enroll in the Higher Cycle in Viticulture of the IES Zonzamas

Graduates will have the opportunity to work in various positions within the wine industry

The Regulatory Council of the D.O. Wines of Lanzarote has called on students and wine enthusiasts to enroll in the Higher Cycle of Viticulture of the IES Zonzamas for the academic year 2023-2024, whose extraordinary period of face-to-face registration ends this Wednesday, July 26. The ordinary registration will reopen in September.

"Viticulture is an exciting and growing sector that needs new and passionate talent. This study program offers the skills and knowledge necessary for future professionals to stand out and be competitive in the labor market," said Nereida Pérez, secretary of the Regulatory Council of Denomination of Origin.

"In the midst of the recently started annual harvest on the island, the wine sector enthusiastically seeks to instill passion for this field in new generations," the Council said in a statement.

The Higher Technician in Viticulture program of the IES Zonzamas offers a comprehensive and practical training that integrates all aspects of the wine industry. Students learn to organize, program and supervise production in the industry, as well as to control the production and operations of elaboration, stabilization and packaging of wines and derivatives.

The plan of the higher cycle covers a variety of professional modules, including: Viticulture; Winemaking; Biochemical processes; Stabilization, aging and packaging; Enological analysis; Derivative industries; Wine tasting and culture; Marketing and logistics in the food industry; Wine legislation and food safety; Quality and environmental management in the food industry, among others.

At the end of the course, graduates will have the opportunity to work in various positions within the wine industry or to continue studying through an FP Specialization Course, another FP Training Cycle or a University Degree.

As the submission of applications is in an extraordinary period, to apply for a place they must go directly to the center until July 26. After this date, they may do so again from September 1.
