Last year, Canary Islands registered 72.9 million overnight stays, which represents an increase of 4.6% compared to 2023.
In Lanzarote, overnight stays increased by 2.8% compared to the previous year, reaching 11.9 million, according to a report by the Canadian consultant Colliers, specialized in financial and real estate investments.
Tenerife remained the most visited island with 26.6 million overnight stays (+3.7% vs. 2023), followed by Gran Canaria with 19.7 million (+6.0%).
The largest increase occurred in Fuerteventura, a 6.2% increase up to 13.7 million.
United Kingdom and Germany continued to be the main issuing markets, while national tourism played a minor role, representing on average 13% of the total overnight stays.
International overnight stays represented 87% of the total, consolidating the region as the main destination in Spain in terms of overnight stays.
