In the month of April, 32,705 passengers arrived in Lanzarote on tourist cruises, 125% less than in 2019, when 73,727 travelers docked, according to a report by the Port Authority of Las Palmas, collected by the Lanzarote Data Center.

Easter has not managed to bring the figures closer to those recorded in the years prior to the pandemic, despite the gradual recovery of tourism, which recorded very positive data in other sectors, such as tourist accommodation and occupancy.

In addition, despite exceeding the numbers of the first two months of the year, with 28,286 in January and 23,364 in February, the figure has fallen again in April, since in March 35,521 cruise passengers arrived, 7.9% more. However, if compared to 2021, the quantities are up to 293.4% better, when there were only 8,314 travelers from cruises, marked by the mobility restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.

In any case, it should be noted that the Port Authority of Las Palmas (APLP) expects that the total recovery of the sector will arrive with the winter campaign, although they do not rule out reaching figures close to those of 2019 in summer, with 90% of the fleet operating in Lanzarote.
