Lanzarote has already chosen its new Distinguished Tourism figures. The Board of Directors of the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society (SPEL) - Tourism of Lanzarote has awarded this Thursday the awards of the Isla de Lanzarote and Distinguished Tourism Awards of this 2023.
The Council, made up of members of the Cabildo, of the CACT Lanzarote, of the seven town councils, Asolan, Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Lanzarote Tourism Federation and the University School of Tourism of Lanzarote, decided that the Dutch tour operator Sunweb Group will be the winner of the Isla de Lanzarote Award, while the Grand Teguise Playa Hotel, the Acatife Cultural Association and Antonio Cruz Díaz, posthumously, will be recognized by the Distinguished Tourism Award in the categories of Tourism Companies, Events/Manifestations of Cultural Interest and Personalities, respectively.
The president and tourism councillor of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, stressed "the contribution of these people, companies and associations in the new tourism model towards which the island is heading and is already evolving from the foundations of this professional sector."
Similarly, on the occasion of the commemoration of World Tourism Day at the end of September, special mentions will be given to the companies Turismark Management, Bodegas La Florida, Festival Mar en Calma and Hotel Boutique Palacio Ico, together with the aforementioned awards.
