The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Society for the Foreign Promotion of Lanzarote (SPEL), has formalized the signing of two important sponsorship contracts with the Handball Club Deportivo San José Obrero.
These agreements, signed by the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, and the president of the club, Yomaique Martín, promote Lanzarote as a sports tourism destination both in the Women's Gold Honor Division League and in the Men's Silver Honor Division League of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation.
"With this sponsorship we reinforce our commitment to sports and the tourist promotion of Lanzarote. The San José Handball Club not only carries our name in each game, but also transmits the essence of our island as a unique place for active and sports tourism,” declared the island president during the signing.
For his part, Yomaique Martín expressed his gratitude and commitment: "This support will allow us to compete at the highest level and be ambassadors of Lanzarote throughout Spain. We are proud to carry the name of our island in every step we take on and off the court."
Both contracts, valued at 150,000 euros, include key actions such as the incorporation of the Lanzarote logo on the kits, on billboards, social networks and audiovisual content broadcast during the 2024/2025 season matches.
In addition, the club will transfer promotional images and videos for use in the island's tourism campaigns with the aim of reinforcing the marketing plan of Turismo Lanzarote, betting on sport as a strategic axis to attract visitors.
“With these agreements, Lanzarote consolidates its position as a benchmark in the field of sports tourism, promoting values of effort, teamwork and brand image”, added Héctor Fernández as CEO of SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote.
