The prestigious Australian travel guide Lonely Planet has proposed to its readers to choose the most beautiful beaches in Spain. Among those chosen, readers have selected the Papagayo beaches in the south of Lanzarote.
Lonely Planet highlights that "it is not just one beach, but several, all of them with golden sand and surrounded by giant cliffs", at the foot of the Los Ajaches Natural Monument.
The travel guide highlights its "good conservation, its golden and virgin sands that extend between Playa Blanca and Punta del Papagayo sheltered from the trade winds, and bathed by calm and crystalline waters."
"The beaches are very photogenic and their turquoise waters are the object of desire for instagrammers and capturers of good memories," highlights Lonely Planet, which also highlights that from them you can see the neighboring island of Fuerteventura and the islet of Lobos.
The most popular of all the beaches is the one that gives its name to the place, with a horseshoe shape and golden sand. But there are others such as Mujeres, la de la Cera, la del Pozo and Caleta del Congrio.
