Traveling with pets has become something not only possible, but desirable for many families in the world. According to booking.com the 'pet-friendly' filter is one of the most popular and its use has grown exponentially in recent years.

Despite this, only 10.8% of the accommodations in Lanzarote admit four-legged family members. The lowest percentage of all the Canary Islands.

To obtain the data, Ekonomus carried out a search on booking.com for the week of August 23 to 30, 2025 in each of the Canary Islands.

Of the 2078 accommodations available in Lanzarote for that week, only 225 admit dogs. Among the 82 hotels available those days, the percentage increases slightly to 13.4%.

The highest percentages are found in El Hierro, where 26.5% of the 147 places available admit pets, followed by La Gomera, where one in five (20.5%), of the 214 accommodations on the island, also does.

In Gran Canaria, dog-friendly accommodations reach 18.2%, although if you look specifically at hotels, the percentage drops to 8.4%.

Next is Fuerteventura, where 16.4% of its 1,744 accommodations admit pets. Among the hotels in Majorera, the percentage drops to 10.1%.

Interestingly, the island of Tenerife has a high percentage of pet admission among hotels (22.4%), but, in its accommodations in general, its ratio remains at 14.2% among the 5721 available between August 23 and 30, 2025.
