Tourists who visited Lanzarote in the second quarter of 2022 spent 25% more than in the same period last year. The average expenditure per traveler reached 157 euros between April and June of this year, while in 2021 it remained at 124 euros per visitor.
The figure reached in the second quarter of 2022 in Lanzarote also represents an improvement of close to 4% compared to the first quarter of the year, in which an average expenditure per tourist of 151 euros was recorded, according to the Data Center of Lanzarote, which published the data for Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and La Palma.
All the islands, with the exception of Fuerteventura, which reduced its income per tourist from 149 euros in 2021 to 128 this year, recorded increases. Lanzarote is the second island with the highest average expenditure. Tenerife leads, where each tourist spent an average of 160 euros between April and June of this year.
Gran Canaria went from an average expenditure per visitor of 130 euros in the second quarter of 2021 to reaching 150 euros per tourist in the same period this year. Tenerife went from 129 euros to 160 this year, while in La Palma the average expenditure grew from 119 euros per tourist last year to 128 euros between April and June of 2022.
