The harvest has just begun in Lanzarote and the wineries in charge of kicking it off have been El Grifo, Reymar and Tao Viticultores with the collection of Malvasía Volcánica.
It is expected, as usual, that the flow of the harvest will continue in a staggered manner in the rest of the island's wineries. From now until the end of this week, Puro Rofe, Volcán del Sol and La Florida are scheduled to begin their collection, followed by Vega de Yuco, Vulcano and Bermejo next week.
The technician of the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Vinos Lanzarote, Darío Pérez, estimates a promising harvest for this year. Despite the present challenges, it is expected to collect approximately two and a half million kilos of grapes among all the associated wineries.
This start to the harvest season is being carried out with full collaboration between winegrowers and winemakers, reaffirming the commitment of Lanzarote wineries to the production of high quality wines and the preservation of their wine-growing traditions.
