The Lanzarote wineries El Grifo, belonging to the D.O. Lanzarote, have received this week a delegation of distributing companies for hotels, restaurants and cafeterias (HORECA) from the peninsula, in order to establish marketing agreements for these prestigious and demanded wines from Lanzarote and open their expansion routes.

This action is part of the program promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands through Proexca, Canarias Aporta, created in order to support small and medium-sized companies in the Canary Islands to expand and distribute their products in foreign markets.

The distributors Leblosen-Las Añadas from Valencia, LaFuente, Arranz Madrid, A Catarlo Todo Alicante, the Coya Puente Romano restaurant from Marbella, the Venta de Posa restaurant in Alicante and the Gourmet Madrid gastronomic experiences portal are the companies that are participating these days in the meetings, tastings, visits to vineyards and the El Grifo winery factory.

For Clara García Pérez, head of sales at Bodegas El Grifo, this is a very good opportunity to show her distributors in situ what they do, why the quality of their processes and products, and to have a more direct and close contact that undoubtedly helps the growth of this company.

“For us, it is vitally important that people know our project first-hand, because it is totally different from any winery they can find in other parts of the world. With this type of action we managed to strengthen the relationship with our distributors and make them fall in love with the project for life,” he declared.

The CEO of Proexca, Pablo Martín Carbajal, has pointed out that it is very satisfying to see the results of a program such as Canarias Aporta.

“Our objective is to support and accompany companies with export potential. Bodegas El Grifo is an example of a Canarian company that produces a unique product, a high-quality wine that also has a vocation for sale in the peninsula and internationally, which is important for us, for Proexca, to grow, reach new markets as a way to promote the economic diversification of the islands,” he added.
