The public officials of the PSOE of Arrecife will support the general strike called for next Thursday, March 29, in protest against the labor reform, and will not go to their jobs.
According to the local secretary of the capital group and first deputy mayor of Arrecife, José Montelongo, both the councilors of the PSOE and the trusted positions linked to that party have requested in advance from the Human Resources department the discount of the salary corresponding to that day.
The socialists of Arrecife will attend at 6:00 p.m. the demonstration called by the unions against the new labor regulation, understanding that "it is clearly harmful to the interests of workers and violates rights acquired over many years of social struggle." "As of today, the reform is already in full swing. There are already workers who have been fired with less compensation; and others who have seen their working conditions and the amount of their salaries unilaterally modified. Or those who, after dedicating years to the Public Administration, have been fired," Montelongo recalls.
The socialist assures that "all this is already happening." "But we have a duty to try to transform this reality and end a reform that breaks fundamental social balances."
For these reasons, José Montelongo encourages all members and supporters of the PSOE of Lanzarote to support the mobilizations proposed by the unions for Thursday.
