The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa has officially proclaimed the 24 members who will form the new Plenary, within the electoral process open in all the Chambers of the Canary Islands.
In the case of Lanzarote, the number of candidates was the same as the number of vacancies to be filled, so it was not necessary to hold the vote. The deadline for submission ended on May 2 and now, after checking and validating all the candidacies, the new composition of the plenary is official.
The next step will be to hold a first meeting, which is scheduled to be convened for the first week of June, in which the Executive Committee and the president of the Chamber will be elected.
Of the 24 members that make up the Plenary, 16 correspond to the election by suffrage, representing different sectors. In the case of commerce, Confecciones Tito, Lanzafrut, Carnes y Embutidos Chacón, Oswaldo Machín and Cooperativa del Taxi San Marcial have been proclaimed as elected candidates.
In accommodation, the chosen one is Representaciones Industriales Canarias SL, while in transport it is Tahíche Logística SL.
Tourist services will be represented by Revoco de la Triguera and D.O. Wedding Plans SL; construction by Lanzagrava; and industry and energy by Cooperativa Lanztransport.
Finally, in other business activities, Aloe Plus Lanzarote, Logimarex SL, Grupo Empresarial Cabrera Medina, EBF Consulting and Centro de Formación Canario have been proclaimed.
People of "prestige" and companies with the largest contribution
Regarding the other eight members, four represent companies and people "of recognized prestige in the economic life of the constituency", and the other four represent the companies that make a greater "voluntary contribution".
Regarding the first group, the proclaimed candidates have been Rafael Morales Tejera, Susana Pérez Represa, Beatriz Salazar and Javier de Quintana Romero.
Finally, the companies with the largest voluntary contribution will be represented by A. de S. Broker SL, Puerto Deportivo Rubicón SA, Telecan Bravo SL and The Thin Line Lanzarote SLU.
