The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote, in coordination with the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC), is preparing, for the first time in Lanzarote, the Business Confidence Index (ICE). This is a brief survey, consisting of four non-quantitative questions, through which it is intended to know the feeling that companies have of the current economic situation.

This indicator, which is quarterly, reflects the recent economic panorama of companies in Lanzarote and the perspectives they have on the evolution of their businesses in the short term. The confidence of entrepreneurs is measured through different sectors: Industry, Commerce, Finance, Construction and Agriculture and the evolution of each of them, the projection of the global economic situation and the projection of the general business situation are analyzed, as reported by the Chamber of Commerce through a statement.

Economic thermometer in Lanzarote

The companies of Lanzarote are responding to the survey these days. It is the first time that Lanzarote will be part of this economic thermometer, so participation is a relevant fact, since until now in the Canary Islands only the opinion of companies located in the capital islands was taken into account.

It is an official survey, so the personal data provided is protected by statistical secrecy and cannot be disclosed. The usefulness and validity of the survey results will depend on the degree of participation, so the Chamber urges all companies that have received it to complete it in a timely manner.

The work will serve for subsequent decision-making that affects companies. If in doubt, they can contact the Chamber by calling 928 82 41 61.
