The arrival of cruises to Lanzarote fell again last June, after two months of slight improvement. In total, 7,526 cruise passengers arrived on the island in June, compared to 8,314 in April and 9,008 in May.

As for the year so far, the fall is 73% compared to the previous year. Thus, although the confinement and the halt of activity began in March 2020, with a total zero in April, May and June, the balance of the first semester of that year left a total of 140,046 cruise passengers, and this year only 38,340 have arrived in the same period.

It was last November when the cruise activity returned to the island, in that first month with only 2,196 cruise passengers. In December it rose to 7,208 and since January it fell again, moving between January and March in figures of between 4,000 and 5,000 cruise passengers per month.

After that, an increase was recorded in March, although still very far from the figures before the pandemic. In fact, the 5,093 cruise passengers who arrived last March represent a quarter of those who came to the island in March 2020, despite the fact that in the second half of that month cruises stopped arriving, as it was when the state of alarm was decreed due to Covid-19.
