In an interview with Ekonomus, Acuña explains how 'Comercia Haría' works, the latest initiative in this regard, a web with the vocation of a mobile application, which has just been launched by the northern municipality and which already brings together 95% of the businesses in Haría.

'Comercia Haría' automatically appears in the traveler's language. In its app version, it is about to be available for download on Android, expected by mid-August, while for iPhone you will have to wait.

  • What is the objective of 'Comercia Haría'?

The objective is for all businesses in the municipality to have more visibility and a place where all businesses can be found. To publicize them and make them more accessible, not only to residents but also to visitors.

  • When was the platform launched?

We started working on it in October of last year, creating the database, visiting the merchants, and incorporating them into the application.

  • How many businesses are part of the application?

About 120, including shops, restaurants, rural houses, English and dance academies, souvenir shops... It is a quite varied list. 95% of the businesses in Haría have joined the application. It is completely free for them.

  • How much has the city council invested?

The platform costs 15,000 euros and the annual maintenance is 3,000 euros.

  • Right now it is available in web format, when will it be available to download as an application on mobile phones?

In August it will be available on Android and we are waiting for the Apple license so that it can also be downloaded on iPhones.

  • In how many languages is it available?

It is geolocated by country, so it is automatically seen in the language of origin.

  • How many users does the web have?

The daily average is about 280 unique visitors per day.

  • Have you already received any feedback from businesses?

Yes, the application was presented on July 19 and since then we have had several businesses that have decided to join and participate.

  • Will it include geolocation in the sense of passing through a town and telling you what is there?

The platform is still a pilot project and many more things are being added, there will be geolocation. Right now what we have are keywords. If you click on 'Ye', for example, it will tell you everything that is in the town. In addition, each merchant, if they want, can also put a keyword.

  • Are you considering more initiatives to promote tourism in the municipality?

Yes. Now that this network has been created, we will work much more on boosting it with activities, promotions and raffles, which will also be included in the application.
