Lanzarote's hotel establishments closed the month of February with almost 10,000 workers, specifically 9,949, according to data published by the Lanzarote Data Center based on the Tourist Accommodation Survey of the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics.

The figure represents a 15.3% increase in employment in the island's hotels compared to February of last year. In total, there are 1,525 more jobs than in February 2023, when the total number of employed people in Lanzarote's hotels was 8,424 workers.

Non-hotel accommodations have also expanded their staff in the last year. They currently have almost 300 more workers than 12 months ago.

If in February of last year they had 2,054 employees, now they have 2,351, which is equivalent to a 12.6% increase

The income of the hotels has also increased considerably in the last year. In February of this year alone, they obtained 10.3 million euros more than last year, when their income amounted to 51.3 million.

Non-hotel establishments have also increased their income, although in a much more moderate way. This February they earned figures very similar to those of the same month last year, around 15.5 million.
