Canary Islands pays its invoices on time and in the correct way

Half of the autonomous communities do not pay their debts to suppliers within 30 days, as established by regulations

 The Average Payment Period to Suppliers (PMP) of the autonomous communities in August increased by 4.85 days compared to the previous month and stood at 30.44 days, above the maximum period of 30 days established in the regulations, according to data from the Ministry of Finance and Public Function.

However, Canary Islands is among the autonomous regions that comply with the rule. With an average of 25.72 days, the government of the archipelago is, among the autonomous governments of the country, the sixth that pays its suppliers the fastest. Only Extremadura, Galicia, Cantabria, Andalusia and the Basque Country pay sooner.

The Law establishing measures to combat late payment in commercial operations, has set maximum payment terms in commercial operations since 2013 of 60 days in the case of private companies and 30 days in the case of Public Administrations.

The communities that do not comply with the maximum established period are eight: Asturias (38.47 days), Balearic Islands (37.36), Murcia (36.29), Catalonia (36.11), Madrid (35.23), Aragon (33.64), the Valencian Community (31.72) and Navarra (31.56).

Extremadura is the region that pays its suppliers the fastest, doing so within a period of 10.91 days.

For its part, the PMP of the Central Administration was 29.68 days in August, which represents an increase of 5.04 days in relation to August 2023.
