The experienced increase in the desire to travel in the world after the pandemic has also been reflected in the inter-island flights between Lanzarote and other islands of the Canary archipelago. Between January and April of this year, a total of 380,355 people traveled by air between Lanzarote and one of these four islands: Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma and Fuerteventura.

That was 16% more than those who were able to travel in the same quarter of last year, then there were 316,226 travelers, when there were still restrictions derived from the health crisis caused by the covid 19 pandemic.

However, the inter-island passenger traffic has also grown compared to pre-pandemic figures by 6.7%. Between January and April 2019, the number of travelers between Lanzarote and the aforementioned islands was 354,832.

Traffic between Lanzarote and Tenerife increased more than 15% compared to 2019

Most of the flights took place with Gran Canaria, with which there was a passenger flow that amounted to 246,337 people, 17.3% more than in the same period last year and slightly higher than that reached between January and April 2019.

Secondly with Tenerife. Traffic between the largest island of the archipelago and Lanzarote was 130,677 people, 24.4% more than between January and April last year and 15.5% more than in the same period of 2019.

The increase has also been due to the introduction of direct flights with La Palma this year that have moved 2,918 people.

On the other hand, in 2023 there were many fewer flights with Fuerteventura, since if last year the direct flights between the two easternmost islands of the archipelago transported 1,137 people, this year there have been only 423.
