This morning, the presentation of the Líneas Romero Foundation took place at Casa Calero in La Graciosa, a new project that keeps the Romero brothers with enthusiasm and desire in their mission to continue the social work that the shipping company has been doing all their lives.
The creation of this institution, with the appropriate tools and capabilities, means being able to focus its work on responding to the demands and aspirations of society that Líneas Romero has been carrying out for some time. This was explained by Federico Romero, president of the Board of Trustees, stating that his objective is to "support and promote talent and human capital from equal opportunities and promote the efficient and sustainable use of resources." In addition, he acknowledged the work of his team and company because "all this work would not be possible without the effort of all the personnel in the group, because, thanks to their work, they nourish the Foundation with a soul that can only be achieved with the affection and commitment they demonstrate day after day."

The event was attended by various authorities, public and private institutions and associations who wanted to show their support for the establishment of the Foundation. Manuel López, General Director of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, was the first to indicate that the establishment of this entity by Líneas Romero integrates a change that adds "to the necessary change of course of our society towards an inclusive, egalitarian, resilient model, respectful of environmental values and the planet that welcomes us." Sports and healthy leisure will be one of the lines of action that the Foundation will follow for the proposed social transformation. In the same line, López acknowledged the effort of the Romero brothers, assuring that their project "is incorporated, with determination and courage, as an active agent of change", and "I congratulate them from the bottom of my heart, wishing them the best of luck in the future that is already today."
The creation of this Foundation constitutes a milestone of the first order in the history of Líneas Romero and responds to the need to provide support and visibility to the social work that they have been carrying out for many years. This was stated by Oswaldo Betancort, mayor of the Teguise City Council, "congratulations for always pursuing the general interest in each of the steps forward that Líneas Romero has taken since its creation." This fact was also corroborated by Pepe Torres, mayor of the Haría City Council, who, recalling an endearing anecdote of the Romero family, affirmed that the isolation between the islands "was always replaced by the commitment and well-being of others [...] that comes to demonstrate a social and moral commitment, not only with La Graciosa, but with the whole of all the islands", and "the generosity of Líneas Romero and the disinterested and generous collaboration is beyond doubt".

Education is another of the points that this organization wants to promote. Innovation and human capital believe that they are the engine of the development of citizenship. Alicia Páez, councilor delegate of the Teguise City Council, thanked "this initiative so good to work especially for the future of our children, young people and adults" and extended her hand to the Romero family, stating that "we will be supporting them in everything we can, my most sincere congratulations."
Another of the objectives proposed within the project is to preserve the environment by promoting learning, carrying out practices in the field of environmental sustainability to change habits that protect the planet. Jesús Machín, mayor of the Tinajo City Council, highlights his career in all areas, assuring "you have given a lesson on how things should be done", and revealing that "when something has ever been needed, they have been there, and now they show it with the Foundation."
The organization of the Líneas Romero Foundation will begin to be composed as it creates its trajectory, as of today it is Vanesa Fontes who is carrying out the first tasks, as technical director, of this social project. She has explained what the challenges will be, already mentioned, that the Líneas Romero Foundation has established. In addition, she stated in her words the mandate that Federico Romero conveyed to her, "we want to give back to the people, our people, what we have received throughout our lives in the personal and professional, the family is at the top." This task generated a warm applause, after which Vanesa recognized and appreciated the value of "sharing with the people attending here today, what have been the incipient steps that this organization has taken to launch, which we hope will be, a long and fruitful path."
Finally, Federico Romero concluded this presentation expressing the pride and satisfaction that it means to lay the first stone on a path towards a united, egalitarian and environmentally friendly society for future generations of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
