The Lanzarote harvest in 2021 has exceeded 2 million kilos of grapes harvested. With 99% of the harvest collected, with a few kilos left of the later varieties, 2,011,756 kilos of grapes have entered the 28 wineries belonging to the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin 'Vinos de Lanzarote'.

The native variety, volcanic Malvasia, has been the predominant one in the 2021 harvest, representing 72% of the total; with 1.4 million kilos collected. The second most harvested variety in Lanzarote has been Listán Negro, with 233,252 kilos. During this harvest, Listán Blanca, Moscatel de Alejandría, Vijariego Blanco or Syrah grapes have also arrived at the wineries. In a smaller proportion, vines of Baboso Negro, Burrablanca, Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot have been cultivated on the island.

The 2021 harvest was carried out early, due to weather conditions, and suffered a small initial decrease due to the influence of mildew. However, it has been significantly higher than the previous year, in which more than 1.3 million kilos were collected.

From the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin 'Vinos de Lanzarote' they are satisfied with the good quality of the grapes collected this year. Regarding the amount of the harvest, although something more was expected at the beginning, they consider that "it is not the desired quantity, but it is expected to be enough to maintain the market levels that our wineries have been achieving in recent years".
