Bodegas El Grifo continues to collect awards, this time it has been recognized with a silver medal at the 29th edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, thanks to its Ariana 2018 reference.
The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is one of the most difficult and prestigious competitions in the world, since a medal is awarded to less than 30% of the entrants, despite having more than 7,300 wines from almost 40 countries around the planet.
For its part, the Lanzarote winery has achieved second place thanks to its Ariana 2018 red wine matured in oak. It is a symbiosis between the Listán Negro variety (which represents 60-70%) and the Syrah (30-40%), where the former provides the Atlantic, fresh, lively and original character, while the latter gives the structure necessary for its maturation in barrels.
After the results of the 2022 Red and White Wines session, Spain has positioned itself in second place, with 433 medals. It should be noted that four medals have gone to the Canary Islands region, one of them being the silver award for the Lanzarote reference Ariana 2018, from Bodegas El Grifo.
The competition, which took place in Cosenza (Italy) from May 19 to 21, brought together highly selected experts from the entire international wine sector from 45 different nationalities, who carried out an evaluation process based on a model designed by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the International Union of Oenologists.
From the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Vinos de Lanzarote have congratulated Bodegas El Grifo for this recognition, since this company "continues to give visibility to the island's wines on the international scene".
