The Cabildo of Lanzarote invites citizens to participate in the Commemorative Conference on the 1824 Eruptions, an event that commemorates one of the most significant episodes in the island's geological history.
Through talks, round tables and cultural activities, the conference will explore the impact of the 1824 eruptions on the territory and society of Lanzarote, highlighting the importance of conserving natural heritage and learning about volcanic phenomena.
"It is a unique opportunity for citizens to learn more about Lanzarote's rich volcanic heritage and reflect on our island's resilience in the face of nature's challenges," said the Councillor for Geopark, Samuel Martín, so "we encourage the entire population, as well as specialists and geology enthusiasts, to actively participate in this event."
The conference will take place on Monday, December 16, from 9 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm, and on Tuesday, December 17, from 9 am to 2 pm, at the Maritime-Fisheries Professional Training Institute IFPMP Lanzarote (Fishing School). Registration is now open and can be done for free through the following link: www.inscribirme.com/jornadas-erupciones1824.
