Bodegas La Morra de Tinajo has launched a new product: the first vermouth made in Lanzarote and which, like its wines, is named 'Postal Code 35.560' in honor of the municipality where the facilities are located.
"We have launched the vermouth because here in the past there was vermouth time. I remember going through Arrecife and people talk a lot about the vermouth from before," says the owner of Bodegas La Morra de Tinajo, Daniel Lasso, who explains that they have released two types, rosé and white. "It is a wine macerated with white Listán in this case. We macerate with some herbs that we buy in the Basque Country, tea type, we leave them a month and a half or two months depending on the flavor we want to give to the final product and we package it," he detailed.
The vermouth 'Postal Code 35.560' is sold in 75 cl bottles. decorated "with old images of the farmers, who are the ones who have decorated and painted our landscape". For now, only 1,500 bottles have been released, but Daniel Lasso says that the vermouth is having a very good reception. "It is going at a sales rate that we are delighted with," he said.
Points of sale
This new product, just like the rest that Daniel Lasso sells through the firm Lanzarote Natural, second finalist in the Pyme Province of Las Palmas Awards, can be found in the 'Timple' store that has just opened in Playa Blanca. "We have put there a space called Origen Lanzarote where we put the entire Lanzarote Natural catalog, which are certified products from the island," said Daniel Lasso, who added that this vermouth can also be found in the store 'Sabores de Lanzarote' located in the Plaza de los Leones de Teguise, in the Fishermen's Association of Puerto Naos and on the Lanzarote Natural website.
The owner of Bodegas La Morra de Tinajo and the firm Lanzarote Natural has also pointed out that, taking advantage of the launch of the vermouth, a new format has been given to another of the products, specifically the fleur de sel. "We have released one with red pepper and an improved black salt," he indicated.
