The Prosecutor for Minors of the Supreme Court, Teresa Gisbert, will travel to the Canary Islands next week to learn about the reception centers for children and adolescents arriving by boat and the work carried out in this area by members of the Public Prosecutor's Office in the islands.

Gisbert travels to the archipelago after the Prosecutor's Office promoted before the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands the suspension of the protocol by which the Government of Fernando Clavijo intended to attribute to the State the first reception of minors and condition their entry into the centers of the autonomous community to the fulfillment of a whole series of identification procedures beforehand.

Accompanied by the senior prosecutor of the Canary Islands, María Farnés Martínez, the Chamber Prosecutor plans to visit the juvenile center and the temporary foreign attention center (CATE) in El Hierro and hold a meeting there with the Government Delegate, Anselmo Pestana; the president of the Cabildo, Alpidio Armas; and the officers in command of the Police and Civil Guard in the islands.

Already at the headquarters of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Community in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, she will meet with the two provincial chief prosecutors and with prosecutors for Minors and Immigration, as well as with police commanders from both the Immigration Brigade and the Scientific Police.

Finally, Teresa Gisbert and María Farnés Martínez will hold a working meeting with the Minister of Social Welfare of the Government of the Canary Islands, Candelaria Delgado, the autonomous region's head of childhood.

Gisbert plans to report on the results of her visit on Wednesday, at a press conference to be held in Tenerife.
