Five deaths and 191 new cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands

The archipelago has 5,030 active cases after adding 390 discharges

The Canary Islands has registered 191 new cases of coronavirus. In addition, in the last hours five deaths have been reported, all of people who remained hospitalized, suffered from previous pathologies and experienced a worsening of their clinical condition, according to the Ministry of Health.

In addition, it is indicated that due to statistical adjustment and once one of the deaths registered in recent days in Tenerife has been validated, it has been verified that it was not an active Covid-19 case, but a person who had already overcome the disease.

The total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 41,203, of which 5,030 are active, after 390 discharges have also been added. There are 75 people admitted to the ICU and 283 in the hospital ward, while the remaining 4,672 patients are in home isolation.

The cumulative incidence at seven days in the Canary Islands stands at 52.34 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 106.67 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife adds 81 cases with a total of 17,224 accumulated cases and 2,230 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria has 16,910 accumulated cases, 90 more than the previous day and 2,418 active; Lanzarote adds five new cases with 4,451 accumulated and 121 epidemiologically active; and Fuerteventura has 1,701 accumulated cases, with nine more cases than the previous day, and 212 active.

La Palma adds four new cases and has 412 accumulated and 31 active cases; and El Hierro adds a new case, so its accumulated are 291 and its assets are 12. Finally, La Gomera registers a new case, placing its accumulated at 214 and its assets at six.

Until this Wednesday, a total of 878,951 PCR tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 5,580 correspond to the last 48 hours, since yesterday the daily update of this data did not occur.
