The Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, has given this Wednesday, March 11, the instruction to all educational centers of the Archipelago to suspend until further notice all school trips abroad and to the rest of the Spanish territory. Only trips between the islands of the Canary archipelago are authorized. Similarly, all types of internships in companies or work centers of Vocational Training students from healthcare families are canceled. Information regarding other professional families and other learning contexts will be expanded shortly.

This is a preventive measure adopted for the benefit of students and teachers of the Canary Islands educational centers.

In this line, this autonomous department urges the directors of the Canary Islands educational centers to make soaps and/or disinfectant gels available to the entire educational community, and, at the same time, reinforce information actions to promote respiratory hygiene and hand washing, especially at the entrance and exit of the center, after recesses and in the school cafeteria. In this sense, it is reported that the companies that perform cleaning services in public centers will be available for the reinforcement actions that are needed.

Given the hoaxes circulating on different social platforms and messaging applications, it is denied that classes have been suspended in educational centers, where teaching activity continues. As of today, the situation is normal and it is not considered necessary to apply additional measures to those of hygiene established by the health authorities.
