Canary Islands registers 139 new positives, 108 of them in Tenerife, and two deaths in the last 24 hours

The Canary Islands register 35.71 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days, while in 14 days it rises to 77.97.

The Canary Islands has added a total of 139 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, of which 108 have been detected in Tenerife, in such a way that the archipelago currently accumulates 20,002 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, and has had to regret two new deaths --both in Tenerife-- which raises the number of deaths to 319 in the islands.

Thus, of the total cases registered in the Canary Islands, 4,261 are active, which is 130 more than a day ago. Currently, of the active cases in the islands, 45 people are in an Intensive Care Unit (no variation), 197 on the hospital floor (-2) and 4,019 are isolated in their homes, according to the data published by the Canary Islands Ministry of Health after 2:00 p.m.

Likewise, so far a total of 15,422 people have been discharged after contracting the coronavirus virus.

Regarding the accumulated incidence, the Canary Islands registers 35.71 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days, while in 14 days it rises to 77.97.

As for the tests, a total of 555,105 tests have been carried out in the Canary Islands so far --3,704 in the last day--, of which 25,746 were positive, which represents 4.61 percent of the total.

By islands

Regarding the cases of coronavirus by islands, Gran Canaria continues to lead in number of cases with 9,205, adding 20 in the last 24 hours, of which 1,524 are active, while 125 people have died and 7,556 have overcome the disease.

Tenerife follows with 8,185 cases registered since the pandemic began (+108), of which 2,601 are active, 174 have died (+2) and 5,410 have been discharged.

After it is Lanzarote with 1,368 cases (+6), of which 58 are active, nine have perished and 1,301 people have overcome the disease.

Fuerteventura, on the other hand, has accumulated 865 cases (+4), of which 61 are active, four have died and 800 have been discharged; La Palma remains with 210 cases, of which 10 are active, six have died and 194 have overcome the disease.

La Gomera closes the list with 101 cases, of which 6 are active, 95 have been discharged and has not had to regret deaths; while El Hierro has 68 cases (+1), of which one is active, in addition to registering one death and 66 discharges.
