The Canary Islands has registered 132 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, so the total number of accumulated cases in the islands now rises to 52,267, while deaths reach 723 after the death of a 46-year-old man in Tenerife associated with a family outbreak, with previous pathologies and remained hospitalized, according to the data that the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government updates daily after 2:00 p.m.
Thus, of the total accumulated cases in the Canary Islands, 3,534 are active (-179 compared to the previous day), of which 70 are admitted to the ICU (-3), 277 remain hospitalized (-18) and 3,187 are at home (-158). In addition, 48,010 people have overcome the disease after being discharged 310.
Regarding the Cumulative Incidence (IA), at 7 days it stands in the Canary Islands at 49.96 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days it decreases to 113.97 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. To date, 1,045,287 PCR tests have been carried out in the islands, of which 55,776 have tested positive, which represents 5.34 percent of the total.
By islands, Tenerife adds 59 new infections and accumulates 22,481 cases, of which 2,213 are epidemiologically active, 404 have died (+1) and 19,864 have been cured; while Gran Canaria has 21,500 accumulated cases (+51), of which 1,084 are active (-93), 247 have died and 20,169 have been discharged from hospital.
Lanzarote, for its part, adds 15 new cases until accumulating 4,927, of which 118 are epidemiologically active (+9), 48 people have died and 4,761 have overcome the disease; while Fuerteventura has 2,252 accumulated cases (+2), of which 60 are active (+2), 13 died and 2,179 have been cured.
The island of La Palma adds five positives up to 529 accumulated cases, of which 34 are active (+5), six have died and 489 have overcome the disease; El Hierro accumulates 349 cases, of which there are 23 active (-1), also registers four deaths and 322 people who have been discharged.
Finally, La Gomera remains without new cases in the last day with 228 accumulated, of which it has two active, as well as accounting for one death during the pandemic and 225 people who received medical discharge.
