Canary Islands registers 128 new positive cases of coronavirus

The islands exceed 58,000 accumulated cases since the beginning of the pandemic

The Canary Islands has registered 128 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, so the total number of accumulated cases in the islands now rises to 58,065 with 1,749 active, of which 26 are admitted to the ICU and 185 remain hospitalized, according to data from the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government.

Likewise, no deaths have been reported in the last hours, so the total number of deaths in the islands since the beginning of the pandemic remains at 779, of which 431 have been in Tenerife; 274 in Gran Canaria; 49 in Lanzarote; 13 in Fuerteventura; 7 in La Palma; 4 in El Hierro, and 1 in La Gomera.

The Accumulated Incidence (IA) at 7 days in the Canary Islands rises compared to the previous day to 42.65 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the IA at 14 days to 77.53 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. To date, a total of 1,166,712 PCR tests have been carried out on the islands, of which 3,761 correspond to the last 24 hours.

By islands, Tenerife adds 89 new infections with a total of 25,793 accumulated cases and 1,159 epidemiologically active; Gran Canaria has 22,998 accumulated cases, 32 more than the previous day, and 393 active; Lanzarote adds 2 new cases with 5,644 accumulated and 93 active, and Fuerteventura adds 5 infections and has 2,443 accumulated cases and 90 active.

La Palma does not add infections and the accumulated cases are situated at 573 accumulated, with 6 active; El Hierro does not register new cases either and continues with 371 and none active, as does La Gomera, which remains at 241 accumulated cases and 7 active.
