The Canary Islands has registered 212 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, so the total of accumulated cases in the islands now amounts to 47,258, while deaths reach 677 after having to mourn three deaths --an 84-year-old woman in Gran Canaria, an 82-year-old man in Tenerife and a 67-year-old woman in Fuerteventura. All with previous pathologies and two of them associated with outbreaks--, according to data provided by the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government after 2:00 p.m.
Thus, of the total accumulated cases in the Canary Islands, 4,587 are active (+180), of which 83 remain admitted to the ICU, 279 are hospitalized (+2) and 4,225 are in their homes. In addition, 41,994 people have been discharged from the hospital.
Regarding the Accumulated Incidence (AI) at 7 days, it stands in the Canary Islands at 59.01 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days it is at 129.18 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In addition, for the moment a total of 968,972 PCR tests have been carried out in the islands, of which 51,273 have been positive, which represents 5.29 percent.
By islands, Tenerife adds 81 new infections and accumulates 19,946 cases, of which 2,404 are epidemiologically active (+76), while 375 people have died (+1) and 17,167 have been discharged from the hospital; while Gran Canaria accumulates 19,569 cases (+103), of which 1,827 are active (+85), 233 have died (+1) and 17,509 have overcome the disease.
For its part, Lanzarote accumulates 4,651 (+9), of which 73 are epidemiologically active (+3), registers 48 deaths and 4,530 people have been discharged from the hospital; while Fuerteventura accumulates 2,090 cases (+16), of which 253 are active (+15), ten people have died (+1) and 1,827 have overcome the disease.
Likewise, La Palma accumulates 477 cases (+3), of which 27 are active (+1), six have died and 444 have been discharged from the hospital; El Hierro remains with 300 accumulated cases, four deaths and 296 cured, without active cases; and La Gomera accumulates 225 cases, of which three remain active, as well as one deceased and 221 people who have overcome the disease.
